Bien Dong Petroleum Operating Company (BIENDONG POC) was established under the the Decision No. 066/QD-DKVN dated January 13, 2009 of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, its function is to represent the Vietnam National Industry - Engery Group in exercising the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the Operator as stipulated in the Block 05-2, 05-3 contract (and other blocks when assigned).

On behalf of Petrovietnam, BIENDONG POC has researched, developed and successfully put into operation the Hai Thach - Moc Tinh field, which is one of the farthest offshore oil and gas field clusters today (320km from Vung Tau), has a highly complex geological structure (depth up to 145m, temperature up to 190⁰C,  pressure > 890 atm).

Up to January 31 of 2025:

Continuous working time of the rigs: 99.88%

Gas production reached more than 19 billion m³

Condensate production reached 20 million barrels

Total accumulated revenue of $5,30 billion on total investment capital of $3.84 billion.
